Shanghai Jazz Restaurant & Bar: An Eclectic Blend of Dining and Live Music

The music is amazing! The amount you pay for dinner is less than what you would pay for the show but you get a great dinner as well. This is a "must visit" restaurant.

Encore was absolutely fantastic. The staff was incredibly accommodating for our group of about 40 people and made the entire night run smoothly from start to finish. The food and drinks were excellent, and everyone had an amazing time. What an awesome space—truly a hidden gem in North Jersey. The atmosphere is unique, warm, and fun, and it’s perfect for a group night out, date night, or even just stopping in for a quick drink. Highly recommend checking this place out. We’ll definitely be back.

Devon: Cute and cozy. Date night, live music, cool staff, and GREAT food! I had the Korean Beef Vlad: I had the Shrimp & Noodles, and it was great. Friendly staff, and great live music, we stayed upstairs around 8:30PM on a Wednesday and got to catch 3 band members playing live music.

I came here for a birthday. It was my first ever Jazz restaurant and I had a really good time! The atmosphere and staff were spot on. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The music and vibe was incredible as well. Laurie Vega and her crew we're playing and they were a blast. They really set the tone for everyone to enjoy themselves. The only thing that was lacking were some of the dishes. We had Apps: Dragon Dumplings, They were very good and the thai shrimp, also very good. Main course: Salmon Burger, it was decent. And the Ahi Tuna, it was pretty good, But the portion was very small for the price. Desser: We the creme brulee and honestly it was not good. Creme Brulee is one of my favorites and this probably a solid 2/5. The other dessert was key lime pie and that was excellent! Overall I had a great time! I would go back because everything else was great. Just avoid some of the dishes I named.

One of the best Jazz restaurants in the world. I've frequented (back in the day) a few and this place was stunning. Food is delicious. The beef excellent. Somehow the fusion of Thai food and Jazz just works. Intimate setting and lovely bar. I'd live here if it weren't frowned upon.

Came here for dinner on Halloween night. It was pretty empty so we had the pleasure of having the band just to ourselves which was wonderful. It came close to being a private dinner with live music. The drinks were excellent and food was decent and would highly recommend the coconut shrimp. The music was fantastic and the service was great. The portion sizes are big so keep in mind when ordering. Overall a good experience and will come back again

Amazing restaurant!!! Band plays everyday after 6PM! •Food is great just wish there were more choices like pasta or steak. Tuna tartare or steak tartare, sushi… could be a longer and better menu. But the food we got was great too. •The band is great. They play with such passion and often engage the audience in their stage convos. •Parking is also available in the back of the restaurant!

Shanghai Jazz was a surprise hit. Honestly, walked in not expecting much, but walked out pretty impressed. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, which is always a plus. The food? Really good. We went for the Asian-inspired dishes and they were spot on – flavorful, well-made, and just straight-up tasty. Definitely better than your average 'Asian fusion' joint. And those cocktails? Forget about it. They knew their stuff. The old-school classics were killer; they nailed the balance and strength. We tried one of their 'new' cocktails too, and while it was decent, the classics definitely stole the show. The live jazz really made the night, though. It wasn't just background noise; these guys were talented, and it created a really cool, laid-back vibe. It was the kind of place where you could actually relax and enjoy the music while having a good conversation. If you're looking for a place with solid food, fantastic classic cocktails, and some great live music, Shanghai Jazz is definitely worth a visit. It's a good night out, plain and simple.
